    Window Inspired Buffet

The design around this buffet was inspired by these old leaded glass windows.  I thought they were gorgeous. I chose not to have a counter top on this piece just to be a little different for a change.  I saw a similar piece in a vintage catologue. I also chose to be a little asymmetrical with the design by adding a little drawer above the right hand door. The funky hardware is know as a Rat Tail hinge.  I purchased them at Lee Valley.  They were a little tricky to put on but easy once done. This is still one of my most favourite pieces.

    Vintage Couch

Vintage Couch   My daughter still requires her formula during the night  and sometimes I find it hard to get back to sleep.  When this happens, I reach for my ipad and visit all my favourite sites. I found this lovely vintage couch of Craig’s List last night.  I have seen many couches similar to this on Pinterest and am always very envious.  This darling definitely needed  some TLC and I have not been much for upholstery.  For the sake of this couch, I think it is about time I learn. Here are some gorgeous couches I found for my inspiration. This one is from the Moda Collection.  Love the patchwork.  If I remember correctly this one was made in Italy.  The patchwork is very pretty and different from all the other couches I am seeing. The source for this sweetheart was found at imagainethis-ddoc.com.   I not only love the couch but the wallpaper is very charming.  Does anyone know if this is actually wallpaper or has some creative type modge podged this to the wall.  Hey another project to take on besides the couch. Eclectically Vintage featured a post that displayed this couch.  A little more simple and … Continue reading
