The Daisy Project
I just love creating, blogging, junking, baking and being with family and friends. The list goes on. I like getting up early in the morning so that I may start on all the ideas that kept me awake the night before. I like life. However, not a day passes that I do not feel at some point, a sorrow for all the ugliness that exists in the world. Everything was making me sad for a while there. Chemo probably didn’t help matters either.
Last year a friend, Patricia, and I decided to raise money for a few families in a shanty town outside of Peru. We did this at Christmas. In a short time we raised enough money to buy food and presents for 15 families. I know 15 families receiving one meal and a few gifts is but a drop in the sea, but it was big deal to these people. Thank you again to all of you who donated to this fundraiser. Is anyone familiar with the starfish story? I will post it one day.
The Daisy Project is the name I have given to this cause and hopefully one of many to come. I enjoy working on my site and love to share all I have, however, this site represents more than just making pretty things. It is about connecting and finding like minded individuals who want to be a part of mending the little bits and pieces of a broken world.
I have a couple of videos to post that show the happiness that Patricia brought to these 15 families last year. It is my hope that we will be able to do this again for even more families this year. Thanks so much for reading this.
